What is Mānuka Honey?
Manuka honey is a special kind of honey that is only produced in New Zealand and is thought to have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties that can help heal wounds and treat gastrointestinal problems.
The best benefit of manuka honey has to be the fact that this amazing super sweet product can actually be used as an antibiotic! A deep look at all the relevant research demonstrated the importance of manuka honey’s antibacterial qualities. In fact, researchers said that the medicinal benefits of the honey can’t be underestimated.
Without getting too deep into the science:
Manuka honey has a stimulating effect on macrophages, which are the cells found in tissue, particularly at the site of an infection. It effectively encourages the tissue to heal while helping to reduce infection. Manuka honey is so magical that it has been approved by the FDA as a treatment for the management of wounds. Whether it’s a pressure wound, diabetic ulcer or even a surgical wound, manuka honey has been shown to help. By applying manuka honey topically it creates a protective barrier to the wound, helping to protect it from antibiotic-resistant bacteria. It’s thought the reason it’s so good for wounds and burns is because manuka honey in particular has antibacterial qualities even on top of honey’s usual value. As previously mentioned, it can also help tissue to regenerate, encouraging wounds and burns to heal quicker.
A small sample of adults were tested in a 2017 project to see whether manuka honey could be an effective treatment for eczema (also know as atopic dermatitis). These adults all had lesions, and were asked to apply the honey to the affected area and leave it on overnight for seven consecutive days. Conditions improved significantly, leading the researchers involved to call for larger scale studies in to its effectiveness for the condition.
We used So much CBD for this product!
1000MG | 1g Potent CBD Formula
This Product contains one full gram of CBD isolate and half a gram of full spectrum CBD oil! This is over twice as much or in some cases, five times as much as bio-available CBD as other options on the market. CBD isolate, unlike full and broad-spectrum CBD, is a pure extract of the cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD). Isolate products contain only cannabidiol without any other cannabinoids and terpenes naturally found in the hemp plant. The cannabinoid has the potential to relieve symptoms in people with chronic pain conditions. In fact, several studies have provided evidence that CBD can ease the pain when ingested and used directly on the skin as a topical. Research has discovered that CBD can relieve inflammation and pain in people with inflammatory conditions when used in topical and ingested forms. Some cancer patients use CBD to reduce nausea and other side effects of cancer treatments and therapies with excellent results. CBD’s neuroprotective benefits have been widely studied in epilepsy and multiple sclerosis patients.
Other Ingredients in our Magic Mānuka CBD Ointment
Calendula Officinalis
Calendula oil is a natural oil extracted from marigold flowers (Calendula officinalis). Calendula oil has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that might make it useful in healing wounds, soothing eczema, and relieving diaper rash. It’s also used as an antiseptic. Each Ointment has a potent mix of Calendula oil to make the healing properties of this product even stronger
Raw Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter, also called Theobroma oil, is a light-yellow vegetable fat that comes from cocoa beans. Producers ferment, dry, roast, strip, and press cocoa beans to extract cocoa butter. Cocoa beans are grown in tropical regions around the equator — hot, humid climates are well suited for growing cocoa trees. Most of the world’s cocoa beans come from the West African countries Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast. Cocoa butter contains a high number of fatty acids. The fat in cocoa butter creates a protective barrier that holds in moisture and prevents your skin from drying. Cocoa butter is a primary component of many topical treatments for conditions like eczema and dermatitis. The rich moisture content and protective oil-based nature of cocoa butter eases itching and allows the skin to heal after a flare-up. The phytochemicals in cocoa butter may protect against skin damage from harmful UV rays and lower your risk of skin disease.
Raw Shea Butter
Shea butter is rich with vitamins A and E and is beneficial for skin repair. Some studies indicate that using shea butter for skin adds cinnamic acid, which reduces skin inflammation and keeps tumors away. Shea butter also acts as a natural sunscreen, protecting you from the strong ultraviolet radiations and potential skin damage. You can also get rid of skin discoloration, rashes, and dark spots using shea butter. Unrefined Shea Butter Benefits: relieves symptoms of eczema and similar skin irritation, moisturizes dry, cracked skin, boosts collagen production, fades scars and stretch marks. It will not clog pores so it’s the number one natural choice to moisturize skin affected by acne or occasional breakouts.
Hemp Seed Oil Cold Pressed
Hemp seed oil is extracted from seeds of the hemp plant. The extraction occurs through cold-pressing, similar to the way that olives are cold-pressed to make olive oil. The many health benefits of hemp seed oil come from its high content of three polyunsaturated fatty acids: linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, and gamma-linolenic acid. Additionally, its ratio of omega-6 (linoleic acid) to omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid) fatty acids is 3:1. Experts agree that this 3:1 fatty acid ratio is ideal for health benefits in humans. They are packed with minerals such as potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, calcium, phosphorus.
Sweet almond oil
Made from the small, yet powerful, almond. Sweet almond oil is made by pressing the kernels (nuts) of the sweet almond plant. It is rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. This oil can help to hydrate dry, itchy skin. It can also be used as a carrier oil with essential oils for aromatherapy.
